EXPERIENCES
MAKE THE FOREST YOUR OWN
Days at Ehlatini are deliberately unstructured. Follow a trail into the hills, take a kayak onto the dam, pack a picnic for the afternoon or simply stay exactly where you are.
Some experiences begin at your door. Others take you further into the Karkloof.
At Ehlatini

Walk Mt Gilboa
Self-guided or guided trails lead from Ehlatini into the pristine landscapes of Mt Gilboa. Walk at your own pace through forest and open country, discovering a part of the Karkloof few visitors get to experience.

Birding at Ehlatini
Forest, grassland and water create a varied habitat for birdlife across Ehlatini. Take your binoculars onto the trails, spend a quiet morning beside the dam or listen for forest species beneath the canopy, including the endangered Cape Parrot that calls the wider Karkloof forests home.

OFF-SITE · OWN TRANSPORT REQUIRED
Venture beyond the Karkloof to explore the wider Midlands Meander, a collection of country restaurants, farm stalls, artists, makers, galleries and small businesses scattered throughout the surrounding countryside.
